510nano and Blue Diamond Renewables propose a 115 MW Jamaican solar project

Proposed Mandela Solar Project to reduce electricity prices by more than 67%

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
PRLog (Press Release) - Jun. 18, 2013 - WASHINGTON, D.C. -- On June 3, 2013, two African American, renewable energy CEOs jointly submitted a 115MW solar power proposal to Jamaica's Office of Utility Regulation.

The project is to be located just off of Mandela Highway near Kingston, Jamaica.  The power plant is designed to produce enough power for over 161,000 Jamaicans.

Dr. Parker, CEO of 510nano, shares "The project balances renewable energy, energy security, and economic development, as well as is sensitive to providing a system consistent with the wishes of the Jamaican Public Service Company.  Although we have access to several sites; we were very attracted to the Mandela Highway site.  This location allows injection of power into both the 138 and 69 kV transmission lines which will help us to improve grid security and provide a hedge against fluctuations in fuel prices."

John Moaning, CEO of Blue Diamond Renewables, added "This project will generate significant economic development to Jamaica which includes over 500 construction jobs and over 50% Jamaican content.  Our panel, construction, and local partners are top tiered and have allowed us to offer a electricity tariff which will cut the cost of electricity by up to 67%."

If the developers are awarded the 115 MW contract, the farm is to be completed by 2015.  The developers will have to wait until September 2013 to find out if they are selected. Until then, both CEOs are planning several other large scale solar projects.

510nano selected to present at the Tech Museum this Juneteenth

On June 16th at the Tech Museum in San Jose, CA, Dr. Reginald Parker, CEO of 510nano, will present Scavenger(tm), a new-to-the-world hybrid solar technology and announce its commercial launch of Silicon Valley Solar LLC.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

PRLog (Press Release) - Jun. 12, 2012 - Dr. Parker is an invited speaker at the Juneteenth celebration of Dr. Robert Lawrence Thornton, who was a pioneer in the development of optoelectronic technology and science.   Dr. Parker states, "510nano is proud to be included as a presenter at such a prestigious event dedicated to the memory of Dr. Thornton.  As solar technology is a subset of optoelectronics, we believe that the commercialization of our flagship technology, Scavenger, will add to the memory of the work of Dr. Thornton in optoelectronics."

Scavenger(tm) generates electricity through both visible light and heat energy which are separated using optics.  This allows photovoltaic and solar thermal technologies to simultaneously generate electricity.  Dr. Parker shares, "Scavenger promises system efficiencies of 60% and a cost profile of 6 cents per kilowatt hour."

Dr. Parker will additionally promote the launch of 510nano's new west coat operations, Silicon Valley Solar LLC (SVS), a wholly owned subsidiary of 510nano.  He shares, "SVS's business is aimed at delivering strategically priced solar electricity to municipalities and businesses in and near California.  This effort will help us build strategic relationships throughout the region.  SVS's first initiative is signing two long-term purchasing contracts with municipalities in Silicon Valley over the next 30 days."  510nano anticipates including Scavenger(tm) in SVS's product line in approximately 18 months.

Dr. Reginald Parker, President and CEO of 510nano, was interviewed by Mr. Adam Beyah on WIDU of Fayetteville, NC.

The conversation was on renewable energy. Dr. Parker shared that it will launch Total Renewable Energy Solutions (TRES) in 2010 which is an initiative that will be centered in North Carolina. Dr. Parker discussed the strength of NC's commitment to renewable energy and commented how these activities will help to create new jobs and a new industry uniquely in NC.

Dr. Parker agreed to share with the radio listener's the Database of State Incentives for Renewable Energy, a clearinghouse for incentives provided by your state and the federal government. Dr. Parker recommended people become fan's of 510nano's facebook site. These two sites will provide information on policy issues related to and practical information concerning renewable energy.

At the end of the interview, Dr. Parker asked listener's to follow TRES tag-line. Use energy better and use better energy.
510nano proudly released its white paper on the performance of its low power solar concentrator, Reflexive(tm).  Please click here to view.

Additionally, 510nano has set up a Reflexive(tm) demonstration site on the eastern shore of NC.  Dr. Reginald Parker shares, "sharing details on our technology and setting up our demonstration site are two very important milestones in our commercialization of the technology."  We look forward to seeing the product in the field in the near future.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

510nano has received much interest in its Reflexive™ technology since the release of its performance test on June 5, 2009, including a multi-state exclusive license LOI. CEO Dr. Reginald Parker, says "The cost-benefit that Reflexive™ provides is more than appealing. In comparison to current solar technologies, the costs are lower and the benefits are better." Dr. Parker reveals that the commercialized product is expected to perform significantly better than the prototype tested at the North Carolina Solar Center.

The Reflexive™ prototype tested by the NC Solar Center used a 66% reflective material. The production model will combine the use of a material that is 40% times more reflective, a proprietary anti-glare coating, an environmental barrier coat, and a novel heat management system. The NC Solar Center reported that the prototype significantly improved the power output of a conventional panel. Chris Hagen, 510nano project engineer, reflects "It is exciting to know that the improvements we have planned are remarkably more efficient than what was tested."

Reflexive™ is designed to improve the cost per watt per square foot. "It is a simple enough equation, but it took a lot of ingenuity to make it work." says Dr. Parker. Due to interests in the technology and market case, 510nano will release white papers to provide details on Reflexive™.

510nano (510nano.com), founded in 2005, is a North Carolina based innovation company. 510nano has built a large technology portfolio since its inception.
